When we took over ownership of this property in November of 2021, we made a promise that we would be open and transparent with all of you about any changes we were bringing to The Blue Dolphin. Out of respect for the desires of all of our guests (meaning those with strong preferences leaning towards both sides on this matter), we have decided to institute this new transition very slowly, over the course of a full year. The Blue Dolphin serves as an intimate, romantic setting on Sanibel Island for adults who wish to relax. We’re currently in the process of transitioning into a fully renovated, adults-only inn (for those 18 years of age and older) as we move into late 2023. All new reservations made after August 1, 2022 are subject to this new adult-only policy. All reservations made before August 1, 2022 , for stays through August 1, 2023 can stay exactly as they are.
